Amtel Systems Corporation offers new black keyboard
Amtel Systems Corporation announces the availability of black keyboard and panel units for its popular text messaging system. The sleek new ebony color is ideally suited to today’s high-tech office décor. The Amtel Text Communication System, which is also available in cream, offers clinicians the flexibility to send pre-programmed or custom messages to anyone in the practice.

The use of normal text rather than codes or lights makes messages easier to understand and helps minimize errors and increase efficiency. Amtel System text messages are also easier to read than text crawling across a computer screen. Frequently used messages can be programmed into the system and messages of virtually any length can be entered on the compact keyboard and sent to any unit location. Amtel personalizes each system with staff names, unit locations, and other information before shipping.

Amtel office communication systems are easily customized, allowing doctors to adapt the system to the way they run their practice. Three different tones advise the doctor or staff member of the type of communication: “alert” (a notification requiring immediate attention), “message” (information that is not urgent), and “reminder” (follow-up, daily call-back, etc.). Users can respond with the touch of a button, eliminating the need to handle a computer keyboard, mouse, monitor, or stylus. The system is easy for staff members to learn, as there are no complex light codes or patterns to memorize. Time and date is displayed and Amtel features two separate timers; one used to time procedures such as rinses, impressions, etc., and an elapsed timer used to time the length of appointments, or for working with new materials or procedures. The system is easy to install because the cable is thin, can be cut to the exact length needed, and is easy to pull, even through existing construction.

Amtel Systems Corporation is the largest manufacturer of text message communication systems. Their intra-office communication system is designed by dentists for dentists and is the system of choice in dental offices across the country.

launch of the PocketSpec(R) Dental Color System
PocketSpec Technologies Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: PKSP) announced today the launch of the PocketSpec(R) Dental Color System with systems starting at under $500.00. In conjunction with the launch, discussions are under way to create a marketing group of dental industry leaders, including a dental publisher. Alliances such as these will give PocketSpec a decided advantage in the product launch. PocketSpec will also sell through traditional distribution channels. Production is scheduled for March, 2004.

Disposable dental tips will be sold in packages of 100, which will bring PocketSpec significant revenues beyond the initial system sale. The dental industry has a large base with over 130,000 dentists in the US alone. Many dentists see over a thousand patients each year and it is recommended that the dental tips be disposed of rather than sterilized.

PocketSpec Technologies Inc. has a distributor in Korea that is evaluating one of the prototype units with a view toward a private branding version for that foreign language market. PocketSpec also has German contacts, which make European marketing/distribution possible in the future.

Advanced orders for the PocketSpec(R) Dental Color System will be accepted after enhancements and new product pages are added to our web site, currently scheduled for release on February 20, 2004. Our on-line ordering will be a nice compliment to our other marketing efforts, as this business to business web order offering will allow for lower cost direct marketing and sales as well.

The PocketSpec(R) Dental Color System will digitally determine and provide quantitative data to both the dentist and patient, which will prove to the patient the level of discoloration (based on a scale of 0 to 1000) that has occurred since the previous visit, and the maximum level of brightness attainable with traditional means of cleaning. PocketSpec anticipates that dentists will use the PocketSpec(R) Dental Color System to up-sell bleaching treatments, which can obtain a greater whiteness. Bleaching treatments can cost between $400 and $800.

For inquires concerning distribution of the PocketSpec(R) Dental Color System, please contact Jeff Krupka at jkrupka@pocketspec.com or direct phone 303.877.6999. For information about the company contact PocketSpec at 303.393.8060 or check out the web site at www.pocketspec.com.

Brain-Pad(R) Introduces the LoPro FEM, First Specialized Mouth Guard
Taking a Bite Out of Head Injuries in Female Sports

Brain-Pad(R) Introduces the LoPro FEM, First Specialized Mouth Guard Designed for the Female Athlete

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- As the effects of Title IX, -- the federal law that prohibits gender discrimination in education, including sports -- continue to redefine athletics in America, the number of women and girls participating in sports continues to grow each year, and as a result, the number of women and girls injured in sports is increasing. In fact, female athletes are sustaining injuries at higher rates than their male counterparts.

While experts debate the causes of higher rates of female athletic injuries, today one of the nation's leading manufacturers of mouth guards has taken action. LoPro FEM(TM), from Brain-Pad, Inc., is the first oral appliance specifically designed to protect a new generation of female athletes from dental and traumatic brain injuries.

The LoPro FEM is the first dual channel mouth guard designed to protect both the upper and lower teeth and the surrounding tissues of youth and adult female athletes. The new product, which comes in a cool light blue translucent color, incorporates two varying thermoplastics designed to provide a more precise molding accommodating the amount of muscle pressure exerted by the female jaw. These new thermoplastics allow for a do-it-yourself perfect custom fitted mouth guard at a fraction of the cost of a fabricated dental appliance.

"Today, female sports in every way are just as competitive and aggressive as men," says Joe Manzo, vice president of sales and marketing for Brain-Pad, Inc. "Yet, today female soccer players experience three times the incident of dental injury as male football players according to the American Dental Association. Women athletes take competition as seriously as men, and they're highly skilled and aggressive in their play. It's time to recognize that they need better protection against injuries."

The LoPro FEM incorporates many advanced features that allow maximum performance while stabilizing and cushioning a player's lower jaw and absorbing blows delivered to the face, chin and base of the skull. This protects the player from lower jaw impacts that can be transmitted to the brain, thereby reducing the incidence of concussions. In fact, concussions have reached new epidemic proportions with female athletes. In a study conducted by Temple University, it was discovered that the sport in which the highest percentage of reported injuries resulted in concussion was women's lacrosse. What was the sport with the second highest percentage? Women's soccer.

Regardless of the LoPro FEM's effect on concussions, its ability to protect teeth and reduce oral lacerations should make it required equipment for female athletes. In fact, a national movement is afoot to mandate mouth guards in an increasing number of sports. Massachusetts for instance, now requires the use of mouth guards in all soccer and basketball activities. The problem with traditional mouth guards is threefold:

-- They only provide some protection to the upper teeth. Lower teeth can
still be damaged or broken on impact with a ball, puck or another
athlete.
-- Traditional mouth guards, with their smooth plastic surfaces, do little
to prevent the lower jaw from moving backwards and laterally upon
impact, which delivers the force of impact to the surrounding nerves
and the base of the brain.
-- As any athlete can attest, traditional mouth guards severely limit the
ability to speak and breathe while clenching and it is only when
clenched that a traditional mouth guard can offer any limited
protection against brain impact forces. The LoPro FEM overcomes this
issue through a unique breathing channel, which actually opens up air
passages, allowing for 100% more oxygen intake while maintaining a
stable jaw position.

For young athletes, the new LoPro FEM is available in a youth size that can be molded to fit over braces. Traditional orthodontic mouth guards are purposely thin and cannot be customized, since they are designed simply to protect the braces and the athlete's lips. The new LoPro FEM offers a higher, more sophisticated level of protection that is welcomed by young players and their parents.

"The irony is that many female athletes use these brace appliances because they come free with the braces. These appliances do nothing for tooth protection and nothing to stabilize or cushion the jaw," says Manzo. "The new LoPro FEM can be easily fitted by the athlete who has braces, delivering comfort, ultimate protection and breathing all in one."

As women and girls' participation in competitive team sports continues to soar, it's clear that they need better protection from concussions and dental injuries. The new LoPro FEM offers female athletes improved defense against serious injury and improved breathing, which could lead to better performance in the sports they love.

Brain-Pad's LoPro FEM, with a manufacturer's suggested-retail-price of $12.95, will be available this March in sporting goods stores nationwide; including Modell's and The Sports Authority. For a complete listing of Brain- Pad retailers and products online visit www.brain-pad.com, models for all athletes available.
