Filtek to be Discontinued
Effective June 30, 2003, 3M ESPE will discontinue selling Filtek™ A110 Anterior Restorative. With the introduction of Filtek™ Supreme Universal Restorative – the first universal restorative to truly combine the strength of a hybrid and the esthetics of a microfill – 3M ESPE is able to offer customers a new solution for anterior restorations, improving upon the strong reputation of Filtek A110 anterior restorative.
In addition to the high quality esthetic results expected from Filtek A110 anterior restorative, customers switching to Filtek Supreme universal restorative will benefit from:
• A brilliant, durable polish comparable to the best microfills
• Handling characteristics that allow for easy placement and contouring
• 30 different shades and four opacities – dentin, body, enamel and translucent
• A shade selection system that matches the VitaPan® Classical Shade Guide
• A 20-second cure time for most shades

SUNI Introduces Digital Radiography and Digital Intra-Oral Camera
Suni Medical Imaging, Inc. (SUNI) announced today two new products: Its SuniRay(TM) brand Digital Radiography System and the SuniCam(TM) line of Digital Intra-oral USB Cameras.
SuniCam(TM) is a precision digital intra-oral camera that plugs directly into the USB port on a personal computer without the need for separate image capture electronics. SuniCam (TM) also comes in an intra/extra oral version, the SuniCam plus (TM). SuniRay (TM) is a high-performance digital radiography system that comes with clinical software and a miniature image capture device that plugs directly into a PC's USB port.
"SuniRay and SuniCam are very exciting products," said Paul Suni, Chairman and CEO of Suni Medical Imaging, Inc., "that take the advantages of going digital to a new level of practicality. Presently, I see a tremendous surge in interest occurring in digital radiography and SuniRay and SuniCam both focus on the central concerns in digital dentistry which are advancement of quality of care, productivity and patient education."
SUNI's primary customer base consists of OEM and private label partners, VARs, experienced digital radiography distributors and dental dealers internationally. Today, about 50 % of all U.S. digital radiography brands are based on SUNI designed and manufactured private label digital radiography sensors. Several thousand SUNI digital radiography sensors have been sold since their introduction in 1997.
In 2002, SUNI introduced Dr. SUNI brand digital radiography systems in Europe and Asia. The Dr. SUNI Digital Radiography System is sold with clinical software. "The reception of Dr. SUNI by our international dealers has been great. Europe and Asia are extremely price competitive and we started off well even with the strong U.S. dollar being somewhat of an obstacle," stated Mr. Suni.

SUNI Spin-Off to Expand Market Share in Digital Radiography
Suni Imaging Microsystems, Inc. (SUNI) announced today that it has established a wholly owned subsidiary Suni Medical Imaging, Inc. which will perform product development, manufacturing and marketing of its Intra-oral Digital Radiography Systems and Digital Intra-oral Camera product lines.
SUNI's primary customer base consists of OEM and private label partners, VAR's, experienced digital radiography distributors and dental dealers internationally. Today, about 50% of all U.S. digital radiography brands are based on SUNI designed and manufactured private label digital radiography sensors.

According to recent survey results published in Dental Product Reports, Digital Radiography is one of the fastest growing product areas in dentistry in the United States with an estimated 40% of U.S. dentists considering conversion from conventional film based radiography to digital radiography. The estimated market penetration of digital radiography in the U.S. is about 13%.
