The DELight dental laser has the precise output wavelength of 2940 nm which is maximally absorbed by water. In hard tissue applications, the laser targets carious material with higher water content over healthy dental hard tissue. This facilitates a clinically conservative endpoint that preserves healthy dental tissue. In soft tissue applications, many procedures can be performed with less pain and healing time. The laser allows the user to select from up to five preset power levels for applications in enamel, dentin, caries and soft tissue.
