PerioGlas is a 100% synthetic material, made up of elements naturally occuring in the body - Silica, Calcium, Phosphorus and Sodium. It is sometimes also described as Bioglass® or Bioactive Glass.
The intended use for PerioGlas® is to provide a safe, biocompatible, synthetic bone graft material for oral and dental intraosseous defects. It is used in a manner comparable to autogenous bone graft chips of allograft bone particulate (Demineralized Freeze Dried Bone). Typical uses include: •Peridontal/Infrabony defects •Traumatic defects (sinusotomy, osteotomy, cystectomy, apicoectomy). •Extraction sites (ridge maitenance/augmentation, implant preparation/placement) •Ridge augmentation
